Displaced owls to be relocated to Gilbert's Zaniero Park
Gilbert's Zanjero Park, a water-retention basin on the southeastern corner of Lindsay Road and Loop 202, is to host a colony of burrowing owls that are to be resettled in artificial burrows to be created there. On Oct. 29, volunteers will install the burrows - they are already dug by the town - and the owls are to be introduced in January. Wild at Heart, a raptor rescue based in Cave Creek, is carrying out the project, helped by Desert Rivers Audubon.
